Patchwork quilting, along with other Western forms of sewing, were introduced to Hawai'i around the 1820's. Native women tailored their new skill to reflect symbols of their past in a language that threaded who they are into this new form of sewing as they adapted to the great changes happening around them. The beauty of the Hawaiian quilt is honored in this first made-to-order offering.

The beauty of the ʻUlu (breadfruit) has long inspired quilt-makers. Some of the most beloved patterns make use of the easily-recognizable leaf and fruit sillhouttes. The word "ʻulu" also means to grow or expand; a connotation beautifully woven into the design.
Ari pauses the quick pace of garment manufacturing to hand place and skillfully edgestitch each design, adding hand made luxury to a favorite silhouette.
